Marco Ortiz

Marco Ortiz is the Director of THINK TANK, overseeing campus-wide centralized academic support center that provides services contributing to student success, retention, and graduation. He has worked in Learning Assistance Centers since 2007, when he first began as a math and physics tutor. In 2012, Marco joined THINK TANK as a Math and Science Specialist supporting students enrolled in STEM courses. Since then, Marco has led THINK TANK programming including: Tutoring, Supplemental Instruction, Test Preparation, Writing support, and Academic Coaching.

Marco has a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Arizona, an MBA from ASU’s W.P Carey School of Business, and a Masters in Higher Education. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Higher Education. He belongs to various professional organizations such as National College Learning Association (NCLCA) and College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA), where he serves as the Math Special Interest Group Leader and Ethics Committee member.
