October 21 – 25th celebrates National Transfer Student Week
Each year thousands of students transfer to the University of Arizona. While they may be familiar with higher education from their previous institution, it is important they still have a positive transition, and are connected with resources to aid in their success. According to the New Student Interest Form, transfer students expect to need the most support in areas of financial aid, academic support, and asking for help. These top needs are similar to first-year students; however, transfer students expect to need more support in online classes (11% “a lot” vs. 6%), and less support in student employment. Transfer students also feel more uncertainty about finding a sense of community at the institution.
