Academic Eligibility
A Culture of Student Success
All students have the opportunity to be successful, and we have resources to help students on a variety of paths meet their goals.
We recognize that students find themselves on warning or probation for a variety of reasons and that each case is unique to the student. We know, based on research, that it IS possible for you to return to eligible status with hard work, employing the best strategies, and by utilizing all the staff and resources the university has put in place to help you succeed. Our goal is to create individualized supports that meet student needs.
The Academic Eligibility Process
Every semester that a student completes coursework and earns grades at the university, they contribute to their cumulative GPA (grade point average). Your cumulative GPA determines your academic eligibility to be enrolled at the university.
After grades are posted every fall and spring semester, your academic eligibility status is updated. Students receive messaging from the Office of the Registrar about their academic eligibility. Students with a status of warning or probation (cumulative GPA below 2.0) will be required to complete a self-assessment and participate in a support program determined by the university. All communications regarding academic eligibility will be sent to your university email address, please check this regularly
