Michelle McKelvey

Michelle is the Senior Director of the Thrive Center and has a passion for student success. After obtaining a bachelor’s degree from the University of Arizona, she began her professional career with Student Support Services/TRiO. Throughout the past 20 years, Michelle has continued advocating for educational equity with a focus on first-generation college students and students from low-income households, specifically from Arizona. Additionally, her dissertation research focused on the experiences of men of color navigating higher education spaces. Michelle received both her master's and doctoral degrees from Northern Arizona University. Both her professional and educational journeys have contributed to the vision and mission of programs and services created to promote student success within the Thrive Center and Transfer Student Center.
