Erin Whittig

Erin Whittig is the Arizona Innovation Alliance Fellow and works alongside the SSRI Strategy Team to support university and statewide retention efforts. Erin is originally from Idaho and received both her B.A. and M.A. in English from Idaho colleges. After working as an English Language teacher and administrator in Japan, Bosnia, Ethiopia, Myanmar, and Seattle, Erin joined the University of Arizona in 2014 as a coordinator for the Foundations Writing Program. In 2018, she became the Assistant Director of Placement and Assessment for the Writing Program and worked on projects to promote student agency and fair, equitable, and socially-just assessment. She loves hiking and rock climbing in the mountains around Tucson with her spouse (a hard-working instructor in our Foundations Writing Program), and hopefully soon, her adventure cat.
